Fruit day🌼

Sorry guys! been publishing this entry since morning. Lately I have been having trouble updating entries with pictures. I think the files resolutions are too big. I will split it up into three entries. I am still recovering.. Many thanks for the well wishes, apologies to the appointments I had missed.

Here goes!

We had a lovely time eating healthy fruits, listening to A lobster is born and gallery viewing of an exoskeleton of a lobster.

Mass is not messy.
Today we measured the mass of a packet of HL milk and chocolate Easter eggs.

We learnt to read off scales before and after the I gave out the chocolate.

Pictures to be in the next few entries.

Please bring English file

Please bring your library books on Monday. There will be no more borrowing of books until term 2. All books need to be collected by next week.

Tomorrow Andrea and Bryan will share a special magic trick they have learnt during music period.

Next Tuesday instead of reading period, we will have some students from primary 6 sharing stories they wrote to us.

Recap on what we did today:
We learn how to use some, several and most.
- some and most are mostly for countable and uncountable
- several is used mostly for countable only
- we use some and most when we are unsure of the amount
- we use several when we are pretty sure of how many

Important things to note on length
1. We must learn how to read off a given scale. Let us do some revision tomorrow.
2. Units!!! Very important!
3. How to use a given string to measure a curvy line. Draw any lines at home and measure it with the string I gave u.

6 March Homework and feedbacks on quiz

Math
- Length Worksheet WS 4 Problem sums

To bring
- English File (by Friday)

Here are some feedbacks I have for you regarding how you take your quiz.

During the quiz, I noticed two types of students

A: Those who check and check
B: Those who rather sleep their time away

If your eyes are tired and you would like a quick one minute break (if you can afford to have that one minute) by all means, do it. However, you need to get back on track and check your quiz. I am very proud of 2B because after I reminded you to check, most of you did. I saw some students spotting a mistake or two (I hope you spotted the right mistake/s).

If the paper is 45 minutes, you should use every single precious time left to check your paper. You may reread the questions or pretend you have not seen the question and redo it.

Many of you finished your work before the given period of time. This is great! Since you have plenty of time left, why not check? I saw some of you ticking your way, you actually re-did the whole paper with the mindset that it is the first time you are seeing these questions. Some students even checked 5 times. Remember, that time given to you is precious. There is no turning back. The moment you submit your paper, you cannot change the answer anymore! So use the time wisely, not too rush as this is not a competition, not too slow as well, manage your time properly.

Remember, no one can take this time away from you but yourself if you do not know how to use the time wisely.

BBC video on Africa
I hope you enjoy the video, be good and we will continue some tomorrow.

5 march homework

Math
WS 3 and Journal

Recap of English period

Some
Several
Most

Imagine you have 10 items on your table
Some/several - will be 2 items or less than half (5 items)
Most - More than half about 7-8 items.

Most of the time, several can be use for items that are countable.
Let's continue our discussion tomorrow.

Revision

Dear all,

Our revision with the mini whiteboard was a success! Hope today's lesson clarifies what you do not understand.
Remember all the important things I have taught you.
Look through your grammar exercise book and all 3 worksheets.

Some of you were confused during the revision today, so I will recap again.

Punctuation:
Proper nouns such as country, cities, names should begin with a Capital letter.
Apostrophe

  • Singular and Plural Nouns without the 's' ---- we will use [ 's ]
    • eg: student's and people's
  • Plural ----- we will use [ s' ]
    • boys' or students'

Comprehension
DO NOT LIFT from the passage (means do not copy word by word)
Try to change the name to she/he or add a conjunction "and" if there are two items.
